Samick Sports is a Korean company that has been active in the industry since 1975. Since their start in the 70’s, they have gained so much popularity that their bows are now sold in over 50 different countries! They are also known for sponsoring some of the top competitive archers in the world. They have bows that range from the newbie to the professional, and everywhere in between. As most of you know, we tend to focus on the most popular models, which are those that are used by archers for pleasure and/or hunting.

Samick has a truly impressive range of bows on the market. Below is a breakdown of the three major categories of recurve bows they manufacture:
Takedown Bows
Samick currently offers 11 bows for hunting in the takedown category. This offers the ability for an archer to purchase a bow that is very easy to break down as well as reassemble in the field. This also means a very portable shooting platform as well. The risers are offered in a range of styles, with limbs that can be purchased to alter the draw force, allowing for a comfortable day at the range or to take some of the biggest game. Their most noteworthy take-down bow is the Samick Sage recurve.
One-Piece Bows
There are currently 4 bows offered in this category. These allow for a more traditional shooting experience and for a bare minimum of maintenance. Each of the bows in this category is beautifully made and ready for years of use.
Long Bows
Samick has 7 long bows currently on the market. This longer platform allows for incredible accuracy for those not as concerned with ease of portability. Using one of these truly makes you feel as if you are shooting ‘old school’…can’t get much better than that!
Samick Sports Accessories
As Samick is known for not just making general shooting and/or hunting bows, but also competition bows, they do have a few accessories out there…more than most companies. Below is a list of their accessories, most of which can be used with just about any recurve bow.
Stabilizer
Samick offers a very high-quality stabilizer in their Element V-Bar stabilizer. The Element is available in 30, 40 and 45 degree models and is constructed of the latest generation carbon technologies, offering maximum vibration absorption.
Chest Guards
Showing their competition heritage, Samick offers chest guards in a variety of colors: white, blue, and orange. While these are certainly not something the average shooter is going to wear in hunting scenarios, these are well made and very sharp looking for use at the range.
Bow Stand
Samick offers a very high-quality bow stand for use when at the range. It folds to be very compact, but opens to offer a large footprint providing you with confidence when placing your bow in it.
Used Samick recurve bows for Sale
If you insist on buying a used Samick recurve bow, we recommend doing so over Craigslist or any other service where it’s possible for you to personally inspect your bow before handing over your money. Used recurves often come with defects that the previous owner might not have been aware of, and which can only be recognized by an experienced shooter.
We generally recommend that rank beginners get an inexpensive (depending on budget) but new recurve, rather than buying a high-end used model at a significant discount. Take a moment to check out our top 10 recurve bows where you can read reviews and compare prices.
Best Samick Recurve Bows Review Summary
Overall Samick Sports is a very highly regarded company that is known around the world for offering some of the highest quality bows on the market. They have a heritage of competition, but also offer a wide-range of bows for the average shooter, from beginner to advanced. Many of their current bow owners describe their bows as a ‘piece of art’. Given the selection available, selecting the perfect bow to fit your shooting needs should be a fun and fruitful process.
I bought a Samick bow at a garage sale. It’s marked L.L. Bean. Is this the same as the Sage or something different?
